The conference organized by the ICT University is expected to bring together global figures in the business world, industry leaders, tech enthusiasts, policymakers, innovators and ICT gurus from Africa and beyond, top African leaders and some politicians.
The conference will open on Monday July 15 and end on July 20 at the Mont Febe hotel in Yaounde. The theme of the groundbreaking conference is: “Digital Transformation: Current Trends, Future Insights”
The two major events being the Youth and Women in Tech Summit and the academic Conference will staged side-by-side.
The ICT for Africa conference is the vision of renowned Professor Victor Mbarika, President and Founder of ICT University. The ICT4AFRICA Conference began fifteen years ago in Louisiana, USA. Since then, it has become a global event, hosted by different countries worldwide.
The innovation this year is the introduction of the Youth and Women in Tech Summit, reflecting the conference’s commitment to inclusivity and innovation.
The main objective of the summit is to Showcase innovative ICT solutions addressing Africa’s unique challenges, facilitate knowledge exchange between industry leaders, policymakers, and academics. Participants will also be exploring strategies to bridging the digital divide and promoting digital inclusions.
Discussions will also touch on the impact of emerging technologies on sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and finance, foster partnerships and collaborations to accelerate digital innovation in Africa.
The conference is expected to increase awareness of ICT’s role in Africa’s development. New partnerships and collaborations among participants, policy recommendations for governments and organizations are also expected to shape the gathering.
It will also be a gathering to showcase best practices and successful case studies and identification of key challenges and opportunities in the African ICT landscape.
