Days after Barrister Balla is shown the door, Prof. Ernest Molua, Registrar, tali’s innocence, holds the Vice Chancellor and Law Department responsible.
News Upfront learned that the Registrar has read social media messages that criticize his words and the action taken by the University of Buea to kick out Barrister Agbor Balla.
No one knows for now why Prof. Molua is washing his hands off the issue: Affair a Suive……
Read what he writes:
“There’s an official document signed by the Vice Chancellor, it doesn’t bear my signature.
That official document states very clearly, who carried out the investigation on Agbor Balla, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Teaching ( DVC/TIC)’s service. Those who can read, should read carefully.
The Dean of the Faculty of Law was the Rapporteur, working very closely with the DVC/TIC. Balla’s letter of invitation to the Disciplinary Panel, was signed by his Dean, for Christ sake!
The Registrar is responsible for investigating academic matters for Full-time Lecturers and Professors.
Balla is an INSTRUCTOR and not within my responsibility. He’s hired directly by his Faculty and they handled their matter. His CONTRACT has got nothing to do with the REGISTRAR of the University.
If I were the Dean of a Faculty, and one of my staff was in trouble as such, I will do my utmost best to protect that staff. He should judge if that was done, to get protection from his direct employers.
I wish Balla came for the Disciplinary, for which I was only a member in the panel, he would have seen those waiting for him. Unfortunately, he chose no to.
What is being circulated online with my name, If I were to write in my official capacity, I will use the LETTER HEAD and official STAMPS of the UNIVERSITY.
Guys, you knew me since in Sasse. I was not in groups, not in your social groups, I frolicked with no one. You had your cliques back in Sasse, sadly and unfortunately, we are now almost 50 years old, and failed to grow out of the infantile exuberance of 1983.
So, it’s easy to pick a scapegoat. But, why you settled for me is laughable!
I, Ernest Molua does not beg for love, and didn’t do that in Sasse College. And I careless about any demonization. I remain focus on my career, my family, my community, my village Sasse and my nation, Cameroon.
What has Balla’s political position got to do with me? I respect the fact that he has chosen a course to invest his resources on. But, going to Sasse together does not make us followers of a particular ideology, I can’t remember if such an oath was taken!
I am neither the President of the Republic of Cameroon, the Minister of Higher Education nor the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Buea to victimize Balla. Balla has the battles he has chosen which seem bigger than all of us.
But, if people think I am too powerful, then I am pleasantly flattered, and Biya may just envy me!
As for REPUBLICAN DIASPORAS, well they have their reasons for my demonization, given my position with respect to the security of the Cameroon state which runs at variance to their mission. The worth of a man is known when he can identify a course and stand firm on it, without playing to the gallery to please the crowd. I have chosen my path.
Feel free to share this to your friends of SJC SASSE 1983 Republican class and their surrogates in other groups.
I remain a bonafide Super scale SOBAN – 7 Years in Sasse, a son of the soil and an unwavering proud Cameroonian.
Thanks.”
