Tsanga Delphine née Zanga Tsogo, before her death was member of the electoral board of Elections Cameroon, Elecam.
She died Thursday July 16 at the Yaounde General Hospital from a prolonged illness.
Born on December 21, 1935 in Lomié, East regions of Cameroon, Madam Delphine Tsanga has served the nation in multiple capacities.
She will be remembered as the first woman to be appointed Minister in Cameroon, and that was in 1975.
She was Minister of Social Affairs for ten (10) years.
Being a trained state registered nurse, she had earlier served at the Ministry of public health as a close collaborator to the Minister from 1970 – 1975.
Before becoming Minister, Madam Delphine Tsanga was member of Parliament in Cameroon since 1965, few years after returning from studies abroad (France).
Besides serving the government, Madam Delphine Tsanga has presided over numerous international commisions and committees like at UNESCO just to name but this.
She was equally a writer with her first publication, (Women’s Life) released in 1983.
The one time Minister of Social Affairs was appointed member of the electoral board of Elections Cameroon, Elecam on May 7, 2011, a post she occupied till death.
It should be noted that in March this year, some individuals had announced her death on social media.
