In an audience at the Royal Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Hon. Agho Oliver and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Cameroon dwelled on cooperation ties between both countries especially within the context of the recently ratified General Cooperation Agreement between, The Republic of Cameroon and The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by the Parliament of Cameroon, which had the the Babanki Islamic Center as one of the key areas of Cooperation.
During close to an hour intensive discussions, the two personalities examined among others, the health of the conjoined twins, Sheveboh and Phembom Akumbo, the state of development problems of BABANKI Village playing host to the Islamic Center and the present state of the Islamic Center.
Hon. Agho Oliver revealed to the Diplomat the worsening state of the health of the twins, the poor nature of the road leading to the Center from Bamenda the Regional Headquarters of the North West or from the Doormarket above Bambili in Tubah Sub Division among others community development problems in BABANKI.
The Hon Agho, a true son of Kedjom took time to give a comprehensive analysis of the Development problems of BABANKI, while explaining to the diplomat that a people spirituality meant nothing if the people continue to live below the poverty line.
The Hon Agho, who recently defended his Masters Degree Thesis on Poverty Reduction in Tohoku University in Japan, drilled the Diplomat on Theories of Poverty, Official Development Assistance and Community Development . He urge the Saudi government to focus more on solving the Development Problems of BABANKI.
In response, while appreciating the Hon Agho for being so passionate about the development of his constituency, the Diplomat said “I served in Guinea Conakry before coming to Cameroon and I have never seen a people representative so enthusiastic and passionate about the development of his/her constituency”.
In the presence of the Honorable Member of Parliament, the Diplomat did not hesitate to transmit to the Saudi government the worsening conditions of the twins, while assuring the people’s representative that, the government of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia would stop at nothing to step in again to ensure the twins are in good health. He disclosed possibilities of an eventual medical evacuation abroad.
The twin it should be noted are the reason why the King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia donated the Islamic Center to the Babanki community.
The diplomat disclosed that a delegation from Saudi Arabia will visit Cameroon next week and one of their mission will be to visit the Babanki Islamic Center, to take stock of the state of affairs ahead of further actions to be taken.
The audience at the Royal Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is just one action in a series embraced by the member of parliament for Bafut-Tubah constituency to promote community development in his constituency. The audience ended with both personalities vividly satisfied.
