700 hectares of farmland have been attributed to over 350 IDPs and vulnerable population in Foumban, Noun Division of the West region.
The gesture is from the Bamoun sultan, Ibrahim Mbombo Njoya, assisted by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
According to the Divisional coordinator of the National Red Cross, Dr. Nji Ngoupayou Inoussa, besides the provision of farmlands, a financial assistance will follow suite.
The finances will help them buy materials and agricultural seeds to farm on the land.
250 IDPs from the North West and South West regions shall farm in Foumban while the rest have been allocated farmlands in Foumbot.
The project is to make the internally displaced persons feel at home and feed their families away from home.
